Episode #4-Building a Strong Marriage

Episode #4-Building a Strong Marriage

Parents, today, one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is to show them what a marriage that is partnered with God looks like.  Children often feel insecure, frightened and anxious when there is contention between their parents and a lack of love in the home.  However, when they can witness parents trying their best to love each other and to serve each other, this can bring great peace and security.

Hopefully, we can strive to live as examples of forgiveness, selflessness, kindness and charity in our marriages so that we can help teach our children the righteous principles to build their own marriages upon. What value and what joy it is to watch two people committed to one another’s happiness.

Today’s podcast will hopefully shed a little light on things to consider to enrich our marriages.  When we focus on our own behavior and our own choices, life becomes more peaceful and more joyful.  Let’s be purposeful in the example we are of a committed and devoted spouse, so that our children will see and hear and feel what the Lord hopes for us all.

I see kids struggling emotionally because their parents are at odds. What a gift it would be for parents to purpose to be patient and kind to their spouse. To willfully give, hold back hurtful words, to serve the other without expecting anything in return. That is the daily “work “ of marriage. To love. Love is patient, kind, and does not demand its own way. Teach your children to love by demonstrating it in your marriage with your spouse.

Yes I agree Donna! It’s not always easy, but worth it. What a glorious gift to give to our children…peace in the home.
